The best hotel in Stockholm

The five star alliance recommends two luxorious hotels in Stockholm. They are:

• Grand Hotel Intercontinental Stockholm
• Hotel Rival Stockholm

Grand Hotel Intercontinental is classical boutique style hotel and Hotel Rival Stockholm is more modern and cool with its design furnitures and younger athmosphere.

Both hotels are excellent but our choice for the best hotel in Stockholm is Hotel Rival Stockholm. The reason why we want to raise this as the number one hotel is that there is something more Swedish in this hotel than in Grand Hotel Intercontinental, which is a "standard" five star hotel. Hotel Rival is owned by the Swedish pop legend Benny Andersson (Disco group Abba in the 70s and early 80s).

The hotel is naturally very well located in the center of Stockholm in Södermalm, one of the best areas in the city. Opposite the hotel there is a small green area called Maria torget.
